I am just like you. Some days I think I have recovered, and some days I have GAD so badly that it frustrates me. I am in counseling which helps. Not only to talk about things, but also to learn new techniques on how to deal with things. In a couple of weeks I am going to a pyschiatrist to try medication to “take the edge off”. I am very worried about trying medication and have put it off for months, but I am going to finally try and see if it helps me.

I take a xanax when needed to slow down my heart rate but they can become addicting if you take them on a daily basis. I use them in emergency situations or if i know i’m going to be in a stressful situation. Also Zoloft is used to treat anxiety and depression if you take 1 a day. If your looking for a more natural way i reccommend meditation or learning some deep breathing techniques. Good luck.

you need to consult a psychiatrist. they will evaluate you and offer different routes you can take. there are medications to help “take the edge off” and most likely, talk therapy will be suggested. you can figure out with their help what’s at the root of your anxiety and find ways to deal and cope with it. usually a combination of medication AND talk therapy is best.
